Why do you believe what you believe? What makes you so different?

These two questions can be tough to answer sometimes. Mainly because they are not often talked about or asked by others. Many people find the “What makes you so different?” easier to answer- because the answer is always GOD or Jesus or The Hole Spirit! But the WHY – THAT is the hard question, So, I asked a few people – different backgrounds and denominations – here are some of the answers.

First, this is Kari and not Pastor Mac. I must tell you my thoughts: I believe God truly exists and is watching over me. But I never thought about WHY I believe it until Pastor Kyle Wardlaw asked these at the beginning of his sermon on Sunday. I know God is watching over me because of my scare with cancer and how quickly it was taken care of. (Read link below) I know he has provided for and has used Robert and Me (many times to help others through their struggle (or two).

BUT why do I believe God exists … Because I see GOD EVERYWHERE! I feel HIS Love [through the Holy Spirit]; I see His people do things that others won’t do (like take care of homeless or feed the hungry); I see HIS handiwork in nature, in creations, in art, in wisdom, in watching little children learn and grow, in every smile or kind gesture, in the vast emotions and characters called humans. GOD is Everywhere!

  • Pastor Mac – “It [what I believe] is the HOPE that lives in me. AND if it is not true, I am TRULY lost!”

  • Dennis– “Experience! I have experienced so many miracles in my lifetime [84 years-young] that there is NO way I could NOT believe in God!”

  • Katie – “Because I believe in the inerrant Word of God and His promises for those who believe.” [See Romans 10:9-10 and the Gospel of John 3:16-17.] “Grace alone (nothing else), Faith alone (nothing else), Christ alone (NO ONE else)!”

  • Pastor Kyle – “When you feel the Holy Spirit, there is NO way to NOT know God.”

  • Avril – “God has seen me through all the trials of my life: from my first breath to the deaths of many family and friends, through so many surgeries and in the everyday struggles.” [Avril is 40+, has C.P. and is STILL walking- by God’s grace.]

I would love to hear from every reader – whether Christian or not – WHY DO YOU BELIEVE WHAT YOU BELIEVE? If you are not Christian, Please tell us what you do believe in!

We look forward to hearing what our readers believe!!!!!
